01- Wedding Venue:
Well, you need somewhere to get married, right? Take into consideration about registry office, location, and travel. If you’ve found the perfect venue, but you can’t have the ceremony on-site you need to consider the travel for yourselves, guests, or suppliers if dressing, and audio equipment is needed.
02 – Wedding Date:
You’ve found the venue you LOVE! Now plan your date, and confirm if the venue has availability on your date. Consider if a weekday wedding will be more beneficial and ease the pressure financially as you’ll be paying a lower premium. In season, or out of season? Maybe you’re not fussed about tieing the not in the height of the wedding season, but evaluate the risks with the weather. We know the British weather is unpredictable, use a climate average to determine a lower risk of wet weather >> USE MET OFF AVERAGE GRAPHS <<
03 – Save the dates sent:
Get those save-the-dates out with as much notice as possible! Give your guests time to book time off work, not to plan a holiday, and definitely not to plan their wedding on your big day. You may be looking for a budget option for these, or something a little more personalised. You can find some great ideas on Pinterest, ETSY UK, Or even use a platform called Canva to create, and print your own save the dates.
04 – Wedding theme/colors:
Colour, theme, style. This is a huge part of your day. The choice of venue can play a huge part in your final theme. For example, if you’ve booked a barn-style wedding venue (Tewinbury farm, Knebworth Barns, Essendon Country Club Barns) you may be looking to add a rustic design to your venue dressing.
Colour schemes help unify the whole day, from brides, grooms, bridesmaids, and groomsmen. Choosing a colour theme helps bring your venue to life. Again, use a platform like Pinterest to discover ideas and colours, and create your own boards.
05 – invites sent
Well, not much to add to this one. You’ve reminded your guests, family, and friends to save the date, now it’s time to officially invite them to celebrate your wedding. Remember, numbers can be limited! Some venues will have a capacity for ceremonies, with larger capacities for the evening reception. Unless you have the budget to cater for everyone, be selective about who. It’s one of the toughest things to do, as you don’t want to offend!
We believe a rule of 3 works well… What’s the rule of three?
3 generations down the family tree – Keep it to close family & relatives within 3 steps on the family tree. Grandparents, Parents, Aunties and uncles & children.
3 Weeks since you have interacted – If you don’t usually interact frequently or especially don’t interact with a friend at least every 3 weeks. Still, invite them, but to the evening reception so they can celebrate the evening with you.
