About Ashridge House
Ashridge House is a country house in Ashridge. It’s one of the venues we supply regularly, and we’ve set up weddings, birthdays and celebrations there.
Country houses and historic venues bring the wow factor before you’ve added a thing: character rooms, grand staircases and grounds made for photos. Planning there is a little different, though. Historic buildings often have rules to protect them, and the rooms can be long walks from where vans park, so it pays to plan the setup carefully.

Historic venues usually have guidance on what can go where, how things are fixed and what effects can be used indoors. Tell us where you’re celebrating and we’ll plan a setup that works within the venue’s rules, agreeing access and timings with them before the day.

In a room full of character, less is often more. An LED dancefloor and soft uplighting bring a grand room to life after dark without fighting its features, and a flower wall or light-up letters gives you a photo spot that matches the setting.
Use the space between the meal and the party
Country house weddings often have a turnaround while the room changes from dinner to dancing. We work around the venue team so the dancefloor and DJ are ready to go when the first dance starts.

You don’t need room for every guest on the dancefloor. At most weddings and parties, around a third to a half of your guests are dancing at any one time, so it’s best to size it for the busiest moment of the night: the first dance or the last half hour.
